We Do Not Start a Search Until We Know Which Platforms Actually Control Their Pricing

October 1, 2026

Most searches begin with a job description. Ours begin somewhere else entirely.

Before we reach out to a single candidate, we build a platform map: which freight forwarders own their own aircraft and control air pricing out of Asia, which NVOCCs hold their own ocean rates, which firms dominate specific consolidation corridors.

That map is the first deliverable of every Darius and Company search. The client never sees it. But every name on the shortlist comes from it.

Here is why it matters: a producer who thrives inside a NVOCC with proprietary ocean pricing will struggle at a company that buys capacity on the spot market. That incompatibility does not appear on a resume. It does not surface in a phone screen. It only shows up six months after the placement, when the hire is gone and you are starting over.

Skipping platform intelligence does not make the search faster. It corrupts the shortlist.

The producers worth representing already understand that platform structure sets their ceiling. When we reach them with a role that genuinely matches their platform, the first conversation is different. The placement holds because the foundation was built before the first name was ever spoken.

➡️ That is the step that separates a specialist engagement from a volume search. And it is where every Darius and Company search begins.

If your last search produced the wrong shortlist, the issue likely started before a single candidate was contacted. Let us show you where we begin. Send us a message.
