The Three Rules We Hold Even When They Cost Us the Search

October 1, 2026

Most recruitment principles cost nothing to keep. These three have turned work away. That is exactly why they still stand.

Rule one: we anchor every search to real market compensation, not an internal salary band. The two numbers are rarely the same. We know what top producers earn at each type of company, and we won't submit a candidate against a number the market has already moved past.

Rule two: we challenge the brief before the search opens. When the platform has structural gaps, we push back. A placement in the wrong environment costs the candidate a career move and costs the client the same search again in twelve months.

Rule three: we work only inside freight forwarding. Full stop. That boundary has turned away business. We keep it because depth is what makes the match real. Knowing what DSV, Maersk, CH Robinson, Geodis, Kuehne and Nagel, and FedEx are actually building toward right now is not something a generalist search can replicate.

None of this is a philosophy statement. These are decisions already made, not positions under review.

If you have worked with recruiters who bend their own rules the moment pressure arrives, you already know why this matters. ✅
